Why join a CSA?

Community-supported agriculture is a symbiotic relationship between farmer and consumer. It mutually provides consumers with a reliable source of nutritious, seasonal food, and farmers with reliable support to continue their necessary work. CSA programs can vary in appearance, but what they have in common is community investment in the farm’s success, based on the idea that we can all thrive.

Some benefits of joining a CSA include:

  • Develop trust in your local food system: know and have a say in where your food is coming from, and take the opportunity to come to any of our open farm events to understand a little more about our practices and values.

  • Eat seasonally: get your food when it’s freshest, most nutritious, and in conditions it’s meant to be growing in

  • Pay farmers a living wage for their products: purchase goods that are priced at market value to compensate hardworking farmers fairly for their work

  • Feed your local economy: put your dollars towards a local business, increase economic resilience where you live, and wean off reliance on long supply chains for your necessary goods

  • Plan and budget your food costs: allocate money to spend on food either in bulk (through a membership purchase) or incrementally (through a share box subscription)

  • Contribute to the long-term health of the environment: for resilience and nourishment in the face of an uncertain future, support work that celebrates and protects biodiversity and soil health

We are very excited to offer two CSA programs to the farm community this year! The team at Freedom Food Farm works hard to produce the highest quality of fresh, nutrient-packed, organic food in a way that gives back to the earth and stewards it for future generations. Sign up for a Membership or a Share today to become a partner in this work.

Farm Membership

A farm Membership offers you flexibility and choice when shopping our produce, meat, grain, and small-batch value-added products.

  • Pay up front in the form of a gift card and enjoy the ease of ordering what you want when you want it.

  • This subscription does not expire; you can take as long as you’d like to spend it all.

By participating in the farm Membership program, customers help us cover necessary off-season costs, the largest of which are seeds and labor. The community supported model offers security through changing times to small local farmers like us.

Share Boxes

Our harvest and meat Share Boxes provide the surprise and variety of a traditional CSA box, but without the up-front financial commitment.

  • Sign up to be billed for regular pickups or deliveries – every week, every other week, or every month – of boxes curated by our team.

  • Summer, fall, and winter versions are available, containing a variety of whatever the farm has to offer at the time.

  • When the season ends, your subscription will roll into the next season. The subscription can be cancelled at any time.

  • Delivery is included!

Eating seasonally and locally is a fantastic thing to be able to do: for your body, for our ecosystems, for your local farmers. By making payment and frequency of delivery incremental and customizable, rather than asking for full payment up front, we hope to make good local food more of an attainable reality for the people we are in community with.

Delivery Policy

To ensure our food gets where it needs to go, we wrap the cost of delivery into our CSA Share Boxes. However, like all small businesses, we have limitations of time and personnel. Therefore, our delivery radius is limited to within roughly 25 miles of the farm. This area encompasses southeastern Massachusetts and the Providence area. A list of valid delivery locations is below. Unfortunately, we do not have capacity to expand beyond this radius at this time, so any orders placed outside the delivery zone will be refunded to you by Friday of that week.
